Michael Buble is "defined" by fatherhood

The 'Haven't Met You Yet' hitmaker admits he has gained more "perspective" since he and wife Luisana Lopilato had sons Noah, who turns three on Saturday (27.08.16), and eight-month-old Elias, and has made him realise his work is just a job, rather than who he is.

He said: "I think being a dad gives you perspective. I think really being a parent is a massive blessing.

"It's allowed me to understand deeply that what I do for a living -- creating music and art and getting to be a part of a fragrance or a movie -- is my job. It isn't what defines me. What defines me is I'm Noah and Eli's dad."

The 40-year-old singer married his stunning wife in March 2011 after two years of dating, and he is still smitten with her.

He gushed to E! News: "I love her sense of style and I'm so blessed because I love her.

"We beat the Hollywood average by four and a half years."

And Michael is thankful for his family as they help him overcome his worries and fears.

He said: "When I'm nervous and I'm insecure and I'm scared of challenging myself or leaving my comfort zone, [fatherhood] just gives me context and allows me to understand what's important."

The 'Home' hitmaker recently released his first fragrance for women, By Invitation, and though he "really didn't" want to make a perfume initially, he enjoyed the experience because it was so fascinating.

He said: "I didn't want to take it on. I really didn't. It was something I was really trepeditious about for a really long time.

"We create music through notes and it's the same in fragrance, so I found it fascinating, challenging, hard, time-consuming and really fulfilling."

To Michael's relief, Luisana is a fan of the scent.

He said: "Let me tell you--if she hadn't been, we wouldn't be having this conversation."
