Eva Longoria has joined the cast of 'Jane The Virgin'.

The 41-year-old actress is set to star in season three of the American telenovela alongside Gina Rodriguez, who plays the lead role as the 23-year-old daughter, which was announced by her co-star Jaime Camil (Rogelio de la Vega) via Instagram on Wednesday.

Jaime shared a picture of a check-in desk alongside a room key with the former 'Desperate Housewives' name emblazoned across it, which he captioned: "Guess who is checking into the Marbella Hotel this Season? #JaneTheVirgin (sic)"

The photo has since been broadcasted on Andrea Navedo (Xiomara "Xo" Villanueva) social media site.

She wrote: "Guess who is checking into the Marbella Hotel this Season? #JaneTheVirgin Can"t wait to share with you all! (sic)"

Although it hasn't been confirmed what Eva's official role will be in the comedy series, Gina has teased it may see Eva assist behind the camera.

In Gina's Snapchat video she has teased Eva is directing the forthcoming series, which will be aired on October 17 on The CW.

Meanwhile, Eva - who recently wed José Antonio Bastón earlier this year - has likened her busy schedule to "rocket science" and has admitted she is able to cope with the work load by prioritizing and cutting back on social media browsing.

Speaking previously, she said: "If I'm not moving forward, I'm moving faster forward. My schedule is usually like rocket science. I prioritize. I do conference calls while I'm driving. I do all my reading while I'm flying. I'm very efficient with my time.

"People waste more time than they realize. How long are you checking your Instagram? I recommend you prioritize, and that starts with having goals. You've got to know what's the most important thing in your life right now and focus on that."
