    Tom Hiddleston's Instagram account has been hacked.

    Just weeks after the 35-year-old old actor signed up to the picture-sharing site, his account was compromised by a user who posted cartoons and screengrabs from a Snapchat account.

    The hacker, who called himself Mr. Control, also included the quote:

    "Afford to take the injustice of people but when my turn will not have mercy on one," and a message for fans which read: "Fans Tom hiddleston Don't worry we will back account to him (sic)."

    The posts have since been removed and the account is now back in order.

    Meanwhile, Tom shocked fans earlier this month when he signed up to Instagram and shared his first photo, a picture from the set of 'Thor:

    Ragnarok'.

    Sharing a photograph of himself dressed as Loki, he simply wrote: "He's back!"

    And Robert Downey Jr. - who plays Tony Stark /Ironman in the Marvel universe - welcomed him by poking fun at his romance with Taylor Swift.

    Robert appeared to make a joke about 'The Night Manager' actor's whirlwind relationship with the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker, by captioning a picture of Tom wearing an 'I [heart] T.S.' shirt and writing: "Join me in welcoming the biggest T. Stark fan of them all to Instagram!

    @twhiddleston (sic)"

    Tom and Taylor have been dating since June but the actor was previously forced to deny claims his relationship with the star is a "publicity stunt".

    He said: "Well, um. How best to put this? That notion is - look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together and we're very happy.

    Thanks for asking. That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt."

    And the actor recently insisted he doesn't care what people think of his relationship because he knows he's being "authentic" and true to himself.

    When asked if the focus on his personal life annoys him, he said: "I don't know, it comes down to being authentic.

    "Everything you do you have to make sure you truly believe in it and as long as you know that, it doesn't matter what anyone else says about it because the nature of being a public figure is that everyone will have an opinion about anything you do, and as long as you know why you've done something and you've committed to it with authenticity then you're OK."
