Joe Jonas likes to do some "bro hanging" with brother Nick when going through a break-up

The DNCE singer - who previously dated Taylor Swift for three months in 2008 - has admitted that when he is nursing a broken heart he will seek comfort and advice from his younger sibling and he also writes songs to get over a relationship.

Asked how he handles heartbreak, the former Jonas Brother star, 27, said: "It's different every time. There have been moments where I've had to write a song, and that can be helpful.

"Or there are moments where you just surround yourself with friends and family.

"Usually I got to my brother Nick. We just hang out, and do some bro hanging and that helps a lot."

The 'Cake By The Ocean' hitmaker also admitted he's not a fan of public displays of affection (PDA) and thinks celebrities should save it for the bedroom.

Asked if he likes PDA in an interview with Women's Health magazine, he said: "No, not at all. Look, when you really like somebody, that all kind of goes out the window.

"But even around friends and stuff, I think you keep that for the bedroom or behind closed doors. Especially at the beginning of the relationship, you've got to be cautious of that."

Meanwhile, Joe - who has previously dated Demi Lovato, Ashley Greene and Gigi Hadid - said he holds no grudges against his exes.

He told the publication: "At the end of the day, you have to live your life and not hold grudges. Life is too short for that stuff."
