Eva Amurri Martino's family is "complete" following the birth of her son

The 31-year-old actress - who is the daughter of Susan Sarandon and Franco Amurri - and husband Kyle Martino welcomed Major James, a brother for two-year-old daughter Marlowe, into the world on Wednesday (19.10.16) and are delighted the "sweet boy" arrived safely at home.

Eva announced on her newsletter: "It is with so much gratitude and joy that Kyle, Marlowe and I announce the arrival of our sweet boy, Major James Martino.

"Born safely and swiftly at home today, October 19th, at 1:44 pm. 8 lbs, 3 oz and 22 inches long! Our hearts are bursting. Our family is complete. Thank you so much for all of your love and support."

Eva shared the first picture of her new baby on her Instagram on Thursday (20.10.16) and promised her fans she'll share the story of his birth on her blog soon.

Alongside heart emojis, she captioned the picture: "Major James. One Day Old Working on his birth story! Stay tuned... #HappilyEvaAfter#BabyBoyMartino #MajorJamesMartino#FamilyOfFour (sic)"

The couple - who married in 2011 - announced earlier this year they were expecting a baby boy but were making the most of the time they had with Marlowe as the "sole centre" of their world before their second child was born.

Eva wrote on her blog: "It is with so much joy, crazy excitement, and immense gratitude that Kyle, Marlowe and I would like to announce we are expecting a new addition to our family this Fall! We feel so lucky to be celebrating this special gift. Kyle and I can't wait to watch what a funny and loving Big Sister Marlowe will be, and we are cherishing our last months with her as the sole centre of our Universe.

"Aaaaand, because we have no patience and don't expect you to either, we would also like to tell you that we are expecting A BABY BOY!!!"
