Cher "saved" jewellery designer Loree Rodkin's life after her hair caught on fire

The 70-year-old singer has admitted she came to the rescue when the Chicago-born entrepreneur's hair went up in flames after she walked past a burning candle at her scented jewellery party.

The 'If I Could Turn Back Time' hitmaker announced the news via social media on Wednesday (26.10.16).

She tweeted: "Well Loree's party was giant Success...&..I SAVED HER LIFE

"SHE WAS IN FRONT OF ME,WALKED PAST CANDLE..& HER HAIR WENT UP [in flames] I PUT IT OUT (sic)."

And the businesswoman - who has designed accessories for Michelle Obama, Mary J. Blige, Steven Tyler and Madonna - has thanked the brunette beauty and her other guests, including Dita Von Teese for attending the By Kilian launch, although she failed to mention her mishap during the evening.

Alongside a photo of Loree with Cher and two other guests, which was shared to the fashion mogul's Instagram account, it read: "Tonight's crew for @bykilianlaunch of our scented jewelry collaboration#diamondsandperfumeareagirlsbestfriend #loreerodkinjewelry #cher#oliviaharrison #marjoriebach#barbarabach #rumerwillis@pauletteakapauly @loreerodkin@laurielynnstark @cher thank you to@Melanie Griffith @ditavonteese Victoria jackson @chachawinchester@moonstarrs @rosarugosa25 for being the girls that u are and coming out for our dinner xoxo (sic)."

Meanwhile, Cher is set to perform a series of concerts in Las Vegas and across the US next year, and has admitted she wants to pursue her music career whilst her "voice is still really good", although she isn't a fan of herself.

Speaking previously about her forthcoming gigs, she said: "I didn't want to be finished. I didn't want to be through with singing, and I knew that this would probably be the last time. My voice is still really good.

"I'm still active and running around. I can still fit into my costumes. I thought that this is probably ... it's now or never.

"I've never really been in love with Cher. She's all right, but it's like, I'm not a huge fan. I'm not a Cher fan."
