Lily James was joined by boyfriend Matt Smith as she switched on the Burberry Christmas lights at Harrods

The 27-year-old actress, who was announced as the face of the luxury brand's My Burberry Black fragrance earlier this year, arrived at the world famous London department store on Thursday evening (03.11.16) to pull the lever and switch on the glowing decorations. She even got the chance to step inside some of the windows to see the festive displays up close.

The 'Cinderella' star admitted she "loves" Christmas and was excited to see the festive decorations, which included two Burberry-clad figures crawling up the tree with Harrods gifts neatly piled up underneath the fir.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the event, the golden-haired beauty said: "I love Christmas, so it's so exciting to be here and see the tree and the lights."

The golden-haired beauty - who plays the role of Betty Dawson in the brand's short film titled 'The Tale of Thomas Burberry' - looked uber elegant as she posed on the podium prior to the big countdown.

Lily adorned a black lace long-sleeve midi dress, which had a tear drop-shared cut out on the chest from Burberry, which she paired with metallic barely-there heels and a smart cream coat also from the longstanding British fashion house, which she draped loosely over her shoulders.

Lily pinned her hair up for the event and channelled her inner Betty as she wore a slick of burgundy lipstick.

The English rose has admitted she admires her character in the luxury brand's Christmas campaign because she still made time to apply her make-up and the all-important rouge lipstick prior to jetting off.

Speaking previously about the pilot she plays in the video, which was unveiled earlier this week, she said: "The script is really beautiful, aside from the fact it's a wonderful story. She moved from Croydon to Capetown and broke a world record, she's flown at the way and she's still got time to put on red lipstick."
