Mark Ruffalo has joined the Donald Trump protest

The 48-year-old actor has taken to the streets of New York to take part in the public demonstration against the new American President alongside a number of disgruntled people following the US presidential election on Wednesday (09.11.16), which saw the Republican take victory over the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

The star has shared a clip of him surrounded by hoards of protestors outside Trump Tower in New York on his Instagram account.

He captioned the post: "Love Trumps Hate love fest NYC Thousands in the Street.(sic)."

And the 'Spotlight' star has revealed following the announcement of the new US leader on Wednesday (09.11.16), he is against the "hate Trump elicits".

Mark tweeted: "This is what we were out protesting tonight. It's the hate Trump elicits from his followers. #TrumpProtest (sic)."

However, Mark isn't the only one to be in support of the protests as music legends Madonna and Cher have also revealed they are backing campaigns against Donald.

The 'Like a Virgin' hitmaker took to social media to share a video of mass protests taking place to her Instagram account, which sees "rebel's unite".

She wrote: "Need to Turn these Words into Action..........So Now What? ?????? Rebel Unite. N.Y.C. Start A Revolution of (sic)."

Whilst Cher has revealed she was disturbed by "loud" protestors whilst in her New York hotel but when she realised what the commotion was about she swiftly went outside to hug "many" of those involved and praise them for fighting against the 70-year-old businessman.

She said: "Walked out hotel & in2,NEW YORKERS!! THEY WERE LOUD & PROUD? THAT AMERICANS HAVE RIGHT 2YELL HOW THEY FEEL? Hugged many.. THEY HAVE SPIRIT (sic)."

Meanwhile the 'If I Could Turn Back Time' hitmaker believes the world will "never" be the same again following Donald's success, and has slammed the former 'Apprentice' mogul as a "petty, vengeful coward" and a "toilet".

Speaking before the result was announced, she tweeted: "PLEASE [pray] BLK BROTHERS & SISTERS,VOTE HRC WE CANT HAVE RACIST,SUED BY GOV4NOT RENTING2?N'rs"& MAN WHO SAID"BLKS R 2 LAZY2 COUNT MY [money] ...
