Amber Tamblyn has given birth to her first child

The 33-year-old actress revealed on Instagram on Tuesday (21.02.17) that she and her comedian husband David Cross, 52, had welcomed a baby girl into the world but rather than reveal the tot's name, she introduced an image of the little one's feet with an outlandish fake moniker.

She wrote: "David and I are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Dauphinoise Petunia Brittany Scheherazade Von Funkinstein Mustard Witch RBG Cross Tamblyn-Bey Jr. #TheFutureIsFemale (sic)"

'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' actress previously announced her pregnancy in October, in which she claimed she was "constantly thinking about the world" she was about to bring her daughter in to.

She said: "I've been thinking about motherhood a lot lately. What it means to be one, what it means to have one, what it means to know one, what it means to make decisions as one and have conversations as one.

"Motherhood has been heavily on my mind because I am going to be a mother soon.

"I'm pregnant, with a daughter on the way. I think constantly about the world I am bringing her into."

Her good friend and actress Blake Lively, who hasn't publicly congratulated the star on her birth, previously posted a touching post from her Instagram page to congratulate the star when learning the joyful news of her friend's pregnancy.

She wrote: "I am asking you to rethink women, period. Go deep. See the frame that holds the big picture..." So proud of my dear friend, and new mama to be, @amberrosetamblyn Check out her piece on @glamourmag Whatever your beliefs, one thing is certain, the world must be a better, safer place for women and girls (sic)."
