Kim Kardashian West writes a letter to her children each year

The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star is following an idea started by her late father Robert Kardashian by penning a note to her and Kanye West's two children - North, three, and Saint, 14 months - every year, each of which she plans to keep and give them when they're 21-years-old.

She revealed on Twitter: "I found a 3 page letter my dad wrote me right after high school about life and it's so special to have. I re-read it last night.

"I write my kids a letter each year reflecting on the year we had together & fun memories. I'll give the letters to them when they turn 21"

Kim's comments come as the family marked what would have been Robert's 73rd birthday.

Taking to Twitter, Kim wrote: "Happy Birthday dad! I love this family photo. I love our family. Thank you for EVERYTHING. I'm so grateful you are my dad! (sic)"

Whilst sister Kourtney Kardashian posted on her own social media page: "Happy birthday to the most handsome, funniest, sweetest, best daddy in the world! #MoustacheOnFleek (sic)"

And Rob Kardashian spoke of how he wished his father could have met his three-month-old daughter Dream Renée, who he has with his on/off partner Blac Chyna.

He wrote on the site: "Happy birthday dad woohoo! Wish you were here to meet Dream (sic)"

Meanwhile, Kris Jenner also took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late husband, who she was married to from 1978 to 1991.

She wrote: "There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t miss you. Forever grateful for the love you gave, the lessons you taught the kids, and the memories we shared. Missing you always. I am so blessed to have had you in my life and I cherish every single memory. I love you. Happy birthday Robert."
