Catherine Zeta Jones bought Michael Douglas a new TV so she could have a new house

The 'Chicago' actress - who has kids Dylan, 16, and Carys, 13, with her spouse - fell in love with a dream home but the 'Behind the Candelabra' star was reluctant to move.

However, Michael went along with her wishes and in order to cheer him up and allow him to give her free reign to do what she wanted with the property, she made sure the abode was kitted out with a "huge" new television.

She said: "We bought a new TV. Well, we bought a new house. Actually, I was the one who bought it - my husband didn't want to move because he was happy where he was but I just fell in love with the place. So we moved in and I said, 'I've got a treat for you'. And in the TV room, I'd bought him a huge curve TV, with a curved screen. And he loves it.

"He loves watching the football game on it, he loves talking about how many pixels it has - when people come to the house, he talks about it like it's a Picasso. So now I can do anything to the house and he's happy. And to see his sheer joy and love for the curve makes me a happy girl too."

The 47-year-old actress thinks the key to their successful marriage is that they listen to one another and after overcoming Michael's battle with cancer and her own problems with bipolar disorder, she says they are in a better place than ever.

She told HELLO! magazine: "I'm very blessed. I have a husband who listens to me and I'm a wife who listens to him.

"That's why - although every marriage goes through its ups and downs, its times of adversity - we've come to a place where we couldn't be better.

"I have a very healthy husband, a very healthy mother and two vivacious, healthy children. I think after that, everything just falls into place."
