Debbie Harry's "bisexual days" are gone

The 71-year-old Blondie singer only dates guys these days and thinks her sexual experimentation when she was younger stemmed from her hormones.

She said: "My bisexual days have gone by actually.

"I have great affection for some of my female friends but I think maybe when I was younger it might have been a little more hormonal and our hormones change."

And the 'Atomic' hitmaker isn't surprised that 50 per cent of young people these days say they are not totally heterosexual.

She said: "They're exploring all the options and perhaps that's what I was doing.

"It just seems that now we can deal with it a little bit better, for some reason."

Debbie has never been interested in settling down and having a family as she is so focused on her career, an attitude she shares with her performance artist friend Marina Abramovic.

She said of her pal: "She says the very same thing - that she never contemplated raising a family. It's always been a personal search, or a quest, dedicated to art."

While the 'Rapture' singer used to be in a romantic relationship with her musical partner Chris Stein, they are just close friends these days and it is a partnership she will always value.

She told ELLE magazine: "My paretnership with him has been, you know, a phenomenal, wonderful experience that's lasted my entire adult life. For some reason, it's just held up.

"I don't know why exactly, bit it was a true meeting of the minds."
