    Madalina Ghenea is pregnant

The 28-year-old actress - who previously dated Gerard Butler and Michael Fassbender - has announced on Instagram that she is expecting her first child with Romanian millionaire Matei Stratan.

Sharing a picture of the cover of Italy's Gioia magazine, where she showed off her baby bump for the first time, she wrote: "I'm happy to share with you my long-awaited joy: the gift of a child. It's a real miracle. This cover and this interview with the magazine 'Gioia' represent my daily life filled with love, family and simplicity.

"A year ago I was on that stage [at the Sanremo Festival] you love so much and where you made me feel loved. I had to come back [to Italy] to share this special and desired moment. Maternity is a gift I wish every woman could experience."

It comes after the 'Zoolander 2' star split from Gerard back in 2013. He had confirmed the end of the couple's relationship in an interview.

He said at the time: "I'm not [in a relationship] at the moment, but at some point I do want to settle down."

The news came as a shock to fans at the time as only a month before they split, Madalina called Gerard her "first true love".

She said: "[He's my] first true love. He's a great guy who knows how to do everything and I hope he will never change in any way ... [I want children] right now. I've always wanted a family, with many children and pets. For me, maybe it is too early at this point [to get married]."
