Billie Piper's friends always want a selfie with her Smash Hits awards when they visit her

The 34-year-old singer was awarded numerous gongs at the star studded bash, including Princess of Pop in 1998, Best Female and Best Dressed Female in 1999, and the golden-haired beauty has admitted none of her pals are interested in any of the other accolades she has on display, and just make a beeline for the nineties trophies, which they can't help but pose with for a picture.

Speaking to the Evening Standard Online about her most popular possession, the 'Because We Want To' hitmaker said: "The awards get handled. I leave them out because I love them, but no one's really interested in anything apart from the Smash Hit award, to be honest.

"It is just so big and so Nineties, and anyone who comes in is straight over to it and in there for a selfie."

However, the 'Doctor Who' actress has hinted she greatly appreciates the awards she has acquired over the years because she doesn't think she will be getting many more.

She explained: "Awards are great. I'm not one of those people who say, 'Oh, they're distasteful.' Most of your life you won't be getting them, so make hay."

Meanwhile, Billie - who has Eugene, four, and Winston, eight, with her ex-husband Laurence Fox - is set to star in the theatre production of 'Yerma', which explores a woman's struggle to conceive, and she has admitted she "leapt" at the acting opportunity because she felt she had a "connection" with the plot line.

Speaking about her latest venture, she said: "So many people I know have been looking at that life. It has been an incredibly painful journey for a few of my friends. That is why I leapt at it. I had a connection with it.

"Something instinctively told me I had to take care of myself on that job."
