    Tokyo Olympics decision delayed

Rio Olympics gold medallists Peter Burling and Blair Tuke will make a decision on their 2020 Tokyo campaign after the America's Cup.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are still on Peter Burling and Blair Tuke's radar, but the Rio Games 49er champions won't be making a final decision until later this year.

The duo, currently key members of Team New Zealand's quest to win the America's Cup in Bermuda, were also named in an 11-strong New Zealand high performance squad on Thursday.

Burling and Tuke will take time after their America's Cup commitments to decide whether campaigning for the Tokyo Olympics is an option.

"Pete and I have the Tokyo Olympics on our radar but our main focus is on winning the America's Cup with Team New Zealand this year," Tuke said.

"We will have a better idea whether the 2020 Olympics is a realistic goal for us once we've taken some time off following the America's Cup."

Finn sailor Josh Junior joins helmsman Burling and trimmer Tuke for Team New Zealand's America's Cup bid as a grinder.

Eleven of the 12 sailors who competed at last year's Rio Olympics have been named in the high performance squad, with women's 470 silver medallist Polly Powrie having announced her retirement.

Powrie's 470 partner Jo Aleh is taking a year out with the aim of sailing in the Volvo Ocean Race which starts in October before trying to find a new crew member and campaigning for a third Olympic medal in Tokyo.

New Zealand: Peter Burling and Blair Tuke (49er), Alex Maloney and Molly Meech (49er FX), Jo Aleh (470), Paul Snow-Hansen and Daniel Willcox (470), Sam Meech (Laser), Josh Junior (Finn), Gemma Jones and Jason Saunders (Nacra).

Olympic development squad: Andy Maloney (Finn), Thomas Saunders (Laser), Josh Porebski and Trent Rippey (49er).

Fast-track squad: Logan Dunning Beck and Oscar Gunn (49er), Isaac McHardie and William McKenzie (49er), Markus Somerville and Jack Simpson (49er), Erica Dawson and Kate Stewart (49erFX), Andrew McKenzie, George Gautrey (Laser); Olivia Mackay and Micah Wilkinson (Nacra 17); Sara Winther, Susannah Pyatt, Olivia Christie and Annabelle Rennie-Younger (Laser Radial squad).
