Noah Cyrus dreamed of being an equestrian

The 17-year-old star - who is following her older sister Miley Cyrus and their father Billy Ray Cyrus into the music industry - had dreams of becoming an Olympian but a bad injury left her unable to train.

She said: "I thought I was going to go to the Olympics riding horses. Then I fell off one, broke my shoulder and had to take time out. I couldn’t move. I was in the worst shoulder contraption ever and I had to have two surgeries."

And her dream to become a pop star nearly fell through too as she admitted there was a time where she wanted to "be a kid and live a normal life".

She added: "I just wanted to be a kid and live a normal life. Then I realised I’m not normal. I’m the biggest weirdo ever."

And the 'Make Me' hitmaker admits her mother Trish was worried about her joining the industry at such a young age.

She shared: "She really wanted me to wait until I was 18 but I signed and she was like, 'Oof that happened fast.'

"I wouldn’t say my music is as ‘racy’ [as Miley's] but I’m not against it. I’m quite young so I’m not going to be stripping it down."

Meanwhile, Noah has confessed she is a huge fan of her father's music and hopes her version of a song he wrote will make the final cut of her new album.

She told The Sun newspaper: "I’m Nineties Billy Ray Cyrus’s biggest fan. I have T-shirts, posters, anything you can imagine. I am obsessed. I listen to his music all the time.

"Him and his friend wrote a song together and it’s beautiful. I took it to the producer Dan Wilson, and I was like, 'Let’s turn this country record into a pop ballad.' So most likely that will be on the album."
