Yolanda Hadid is to feature in a new reality TV show called 'Model Moms'

The 53-year-old TV star - who is the mother of models Gigi and Bella Hadid - is poised to serve as a mentor to aspiring teen models, offering them advice on how to succeed on and off the catwalk.

The unscripted programme will air on the Lifetime network and will be Yolanda's first TV show since she starred on the sixth season of 'Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills' in 2016.

'Model Moms' will see contestants and their mothers put through an eight-week training programme focused on the physical and emotional wellness that it takes to become a star.

And each week, a $5,000 prize will be given to a chosen contestant, who will invest the money in their career as a model.

Meanwhile, Gigi has previously admitted how tough she has found it to cope with the stresses of Yolanda's Lyme Disease diagnosis in 2012.

The 21-year-old star confessed it has been difficult for Yolanda to adjust to living with the infectious disease, which has meant she's lost the ability to read and write.

Speaking in 2015, the blonde beauty - who also has a brother called Anwar, 17 - shared: "You know it's hard, especially with something like Lyme Disease, not a lot of people know about it, especially doctors so they don't really know how to help, medical wise.

"So it's really hard for me and my siblings to know how we could help, but I guess just being supportive is the best way we can do it."

But Gigi revealed Yolanda takes heart from her children's successes.

She explained: "You can tell how much it means to her when, during a lunch break on a shoot, I'll FaceTime her and talk to her about how my day's going.

"I think just the little things like that is what's helping her get through it."
