    Australian man in NZ to find kids

    A Queensland man who hasn't seen his kids since his ex-wife picked them up two and a half years ago is in Christchurch looking for them.


    An Australian father who has been searching for his children for two and a half years has arrived in Christchurch.

    Harry Speath handed his children, Serena and Thomas, over to his ex-wife Jane Adare in Brisbane in December 2014 and hasn't seen them since.

    In the days and weeks following, his phone calls went unanswered and nobody answered the door at Ms Adare's house.

    Serena is now aged eight and Thomas seven.

    "It really is quite dreadful because I want to be actively involved in raising these children," he told AAP in 2015.

    Mr Speath has since searched for his children in London and Brazil.

    He arrived at Christchurch Airport on Friday afternoon.

    He told Newstalk ZB there were indications his ex-wife had potentially ended up in New Zealand.

    "The indications are Christchurch at the moment," he said.

    But the South Island was also possible.

    He is in Christchurch for four days.
