    One dead in Waikato crash

    A northern Waikato road has reopened after a crash left one person dead and led to five others being transported to hospital.


    A northern Waikato road reopened overnight after one person died in a crash and two others were airlifted to hospital.

    The crash happened on Waerenga Road, near Te Kauwhata, about 3.50pm on Friday, police say.

    One of those airlifted was in a critical condition, while three more people were transported to hospital by ambulance.
