Replica pistol used in Lower Hutt robbery

Police have charged two men with using a replica pistol to threaten a person in their Lower Hutt home at about midnight on Sunday.

Two men used a replica pistol to threaten a person in their Lower Hutt home, police say.

Police arrested the men, aged 31 and 32, a short distance from the Lower Hutt home after being called just after midnight on Sunday, Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Todd says.

During the arrest, the officers found a replica pistol, he said.

The two Lower Hutt men are due to appear in the Hutt Valley District Court charged with aggravated robbery.

The 31-year-old is also charged with possession of a meth pipe and an offensive weapon.
