Two men accused of trafficking $14 million worth of cocaine inside a jewel-encrusted horse head sculpture are still waiting on an Auckland jury to decide their fate.
American Ronald Cook Senior, 56, and 44-year-old Augustin Suarez-Juarez of Mexico are standing trial in the High Court accused of possessing and attempting to supply drugs from the haul.
The 11 member jury told Justice Sarah Katz on Tuesday afternoon it had reached a verdict on one of the men, but was having trouble deciding if the other man was guilty or not.
Justice Katz told the jury to strive for a unanimous verdict on both men, but gave them the option to reach a majority verdict if needed.
The jury will reconvene on Wednesday.
