    Suspicious death in Christchurch: police

    A woman's death in Avonhead in Christchurch overnight is being treated as a homicide by police.


    A woman's death in Christchurch is being treated as a homicide by police.

    The woman died at a property on Avonhead Road, police say.

    They would like to hear from anyone who was in the Avonhead Road area at about midnight on Saturday and noticed anything out of the ordinary.

    A scene examination is continuing, as is the process to formally identify the woman.

    At this stage police believe it's an isolated incident and there are no safety concerns for the general public, says Detective Sergeant Michael Ford.
