Feilding man attacked in Palmerston North

A Feilding man was attacked while walking home with friends in Palmerston North on Saturday night.

A 20-year-old Feilding man is in Wellington Hospital's ICU in an induced coma surrounded by family after an attack in Palmerston North.

The man was walking home with friends along Main Street about 10.30pm on Saturday when he stopped to talk to people in a parked vehicle, police say.

His friends continued walking but were soon alerted that something had happened to their friend. They went back to find him lying on the road with a serious head injury.

Police have spoken to some witnesses but want to talk to the blonde-haired woman driving the vehicle in the company of two males.
