Zendaya celebrated her 21st birthday with a Tupac Shakur inspired cake

The ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ star reached the milestone age on Friday (01.09.17) and took to her Snapchat account to share a number of snaps of her celebratory evening, which included a two-tier cake featuring a picture of the late rapper.

The sweet treat was covered in blue fondant with an edible gold chain circling around the lowest tier. The words “Thug life" were featured on the top tier, whilst “Happy Birthday Daya” was written below.

Zendaya wrote on the pictures of her impressive dessert: "They know me so well… Love me some pac. (sic)”

The brunette beauty celebrated her birthday with a low-key family dinner, and shared a series of photos of her nearest and dearest sat around a table to commemorate the evening.

She wrote alongside the photos: “Family dinner in the backyard.”

The star was then treated to a showing of ‘Shrek’ which she dubbed her “favourite movie”, to round off her special day.

Zendaya’s fairly low-key birthday comes after she recently took to her blog to claim she wouldn’t be celebrating the special occasion with any alcohol - despite 21 being the legal drinking age in the US - as she says her life is “too stressful” to drink.

She wrote: "Today I turn 21! Holla!!! But just because I'm now the legal drinking age, doesn't mean I'm going to start throwing 'em back. I don't plan to start drinking.

"My life is too stressful to need help with relaxing by having a cocktail. This industry is way too nuts for me to not be in control of myself and my decisions, so I just don't want to introduce drinking! Plus, I don't want drinking to become a vice. Why try something if you don't need it?! (sic)"
