Mel B threw a Barbie and Ken themed birthday party for her daughter Madison

The 42-year-old singer has taken to social media to share the details of her youngest child's bash to mark her sixth birthday, although the celebrations come 10 days after Angel's birthday on September 1.

The youngster was surprised to be welcomed by a life size model of the popular dolls, a Barbie-inspired rainbow cake, which boasted a number of tiers and was decorated with blue icing, sprinkles and a Barbie figurine on the side, as well as a pony dressed to resemble a unicorn.

The Spice Girls band member - who also has daughters Phoenix, 18, and Angel, 10 - posted a string of photographs from the special day on her Instagram account, which saw her gush about her "shining star" and the "amazing birthday party" she arranged.

Mel wrote: "Happy birthday my sweet baby girl, you are my world my shinning star my everything,I just cannot believe today your 6 AND your starting big girls school sooo much in one day wowza

"Omg what an amazing birthday party, ahhhh Madi I still can't believe your a big girl 6 years old #kenbarbiebirthdayparty #familyfirst #singleparentlife

"Ahhhhh madi bears my love!! Thank you @gary_90210 for the amazing Barbie rainbow cake it was soooooo good #kenbarbiebirthdayparty #familyfirst #singleparentworkinghard (sic)."

The 'Wannabe' hitmaker - who was known as Scary Spice in the girl band - even dyed her hair a variety of shades to ensure even her locks co-ordinated with the unicorn theme.

Meanwhile, the 'America's Got Talent' judge shared a collage of four images from their recent family trip to Disneyland, and has admitted despite being involved in a length divorce battle with her estranged husband, Stephen Belafonte, Mel still finds happiness in spending time with her brood.

The final image, which also captured Stephen's daughter Giselle, read: "Awwww the happiest place on earth with my 4 girls yippee #Disneyland #girlpower #phoenix #gisele #angel #madison #singleparentworkinghard (sic)."
