Donald Glover announced his partner Michelle is expecting their second baby during the Emmy Awards on Sunday night (17.09.17)

The 33-year-old star was named the Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in 'Atlanta' and during his acceptance speech at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Donald revealed he is set to become a father for a second time.

He shared: "I want to think Michelle, my partner. You love me even how crazy I get it.

"I want to thank my baby, my son, for just being the joy in my life. I want to thank my unborn son, we're listening to Stevie tonight."

The actor - who won the Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series gong, too - also thanked outspoken US President Donald Trump for his success at the awards bash.

Donald - whose son Legend was born last year - made history on the night by becoming the first black director to ever win the Outstanding Directing accolade.

Reflecting on his success, he said: "I want to thank Trump for making black people number one on the most oppressed list. He's the reason I'm probably up here."

Donald's successes come shortly after he announced his retirement from making music.

The American star previously balanced his hip-hop career with starring in TV shows and movies, but earlier this year, he confirmed the time had come for him to walk away from the music business.

He said: "There's nothing worst than like a third sequel, like a third movie and we're like, 'again?'

"You know, I like it when something's good and when it comes back there's a reason to come back, there's a reason to do that."

He claimed, too, that continuing his career under the name of Childish Gambino might serve to compromise his "punk" approach.

He explained: "Being punk just always felt really good to me and we always looked at 'Atlanta' as a punk show and I feel like the direction I would go with Childish Gambino wouldn't be punk anymore."
