Victoria Beckham is able to "smile" about some of the embarrassing outfits she's worn in the past

The singer-turned-designer first found fame as part of the Spice Girls and while Victoria acknowledges that some of the outfits she wore in her younger years were cringe-worthy, she's still able to laugh at herself.

She said: "I look back at the things I've worn in the past and it makes me smile.

"It's made me who I am now and part of growing up is trying new things. Some things work, some things don't."

On one particular occasion, Victoria - who was known as Posh Spice during her time with the chart-topping group - said that she and her bandmates, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell, looked like they were "men in drag".

She told HELLO! magazine: "There's one that was the most hideous - we went to the American Music Awards and we looked like men in drag.

"We had so much make-up on, it was unbelievable. I look back at the pictures and I'm like, 'Woah!' That was a lot of make-up, we took the layering of make-up to a whole new level."

Meanwhile, Victoria recently revealed she finds it hard to pick an outfit for herself during Fashion Week.

The 43-year-old designer showcased the new designs in her eponymous label at New York Fashion Week, and the star opted for a classic jeans and a white T-shirt ensemble because she didn't "have the time to think" about her own outfit.

She said: "On the lead up to Fashion Week, you don't really have the time to think about what you're wearing because we've been so busy this week with the collection and the casting and everything else that goes with putting a big show together."
