    Man critical after truck crashes into tree

    A man is critically injured after a heavy truck crashed at Golden Downs, south of Nelson.


    A man is critically injured after a heavy truck crashed at Golden Downs, south of Nelson.

    The accident happened on Stock Road about 3.30pm on Friday, police say.

    The man was initially trapped in the truck after it crashed into a tree.

    He was taken to Nelson Hospital in a critical condition.

    Another person in the truck is OK.

    The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and traffic control is in place.
