    No sign of missing Dunedin man

    A search for a man missing since leaving a Dunedin hospital on Thursday afternoon has found no sign of him.


    A search for a man missing since leaving a Dunedin hospital on Thursday afternoon has found no sign of him.

    Gordon Mclean, 63, known as Gordy, has not been since 3pm on Thursday and searches on Thursday night and Friday have not found him.

    Sergeant Richard Panting says Mr Mclean is considered very frail and police have serious concerns for his welfare.

    They believe he may have fallen.

    On Friday, about 50 LandSAR volunteers and police searched in Wakari, Helensburgh, Halfway Bush and Kaikorai Valley.

    Police continue to ask residents to check their properties thoroughly, particularly in the Halfway Bush area.

    When he was last seen he was wearing a dark-coloured polar fleece and trousers, a red-coloured polo shirt, brown slippers and a black puffer sleeveless jacket.

    He is about 152cm tall and is of a very thin build.

    He was last seen leaving Wakari Hospital on Taieri Road.
