    Witnesses to Rosedale bar robbery sought

    Police are looking for a man who held up an Auckland bar at gunpoint and assaulted a female staff member.

    A man has held up an Auckland bar at gunpoint and made off with cash on foot.

    Police are hoping members of the public can help the investigation into the aggravated robbery at Vinos Bar in Rosedale about 6.45pm on Thursday because it was at a busy time.

    People were travelling home from work or visiting other local bars and restaurants in the immediate area at the time, says Detective Sergeant Nick Salter.

    The man entered the bar on William Pickering Drive with a firearm, threatened patrons and assaulted a female staff member even though she followed his instructions.

    He then headed south along William Pickering Drive.

    "Someone may have seen this brazen act or may have CCTV in the area that may have captured the offender preparing before the robbery or leaving immediately after.

    "We want to hear from anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant you may think it is," Det Sgt Salter says.
