    Man hospitalised in petrol station fight

    A man has been left in hospital with a head injury after a fight between two groups at a petrol station in Motueka overnight.


    A man has been hospitalised with head injuries after a brawl at a South Island petrol station.

    Police say the fight between two groups broke out about 2am on Sunday at the Z Service Station on Motueka's High Street.

    A 29-year-old man was taken to hospital with head injuries, Detective Sergeant Lex Bruning said.

    Police are now calling for witnesses.
