Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are determined to keep their children out of the spotlight for as long a possible

The 39-year-old actor and Mila, 34 - who are parents to three-year-old daughter Wyatt and ten-month-old son Dimitri - are among the most recognisable married couples in the world, but the 'Jobs' star has insisted his children won't be appearing in any of their social media posts anytime soon.

He explained: "We have a private social network that we share stuff with the families so the grandparents can see the kids and stuff.

"But we don't share any photos of our kids publicly because we feel that being public is a personal choice."

Ashton concedes dealing with public scrutiny is part and parcel of working in Hollywood.

But he doesn't think the same logic should be applied to his children, neither of whom are old enough to determine what they wish to do with their own lives.

He told the Thrive Global Podcast with iHeartRadio: "My wife and I have chosen a career where we're in the public light, but my kids have not so I think they have the right to choose that.

"I actually don't think that they should have images of them as children that somebody could potentially blackmail with or do whatever.

"It's their private life, it's not mine to give away ... Your social profile is yours to create not for someone else to create for you."

And despite being one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood, Ashton revealed he considers being a parent to be his biggest priority in life.

The star - who was previously married to Demi Moore from 2005 until 2013 - explained: "I am Wyatt and Dimitri's dad ... everything else is secondary."
