Triathlete Tony Dodds is appealing against his omission from the New Zealand team for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Dodds went on Twitter to say he was "devastated" not to be included in the triathlon selection, which was named on Thursday.
He tweeted: "I was not intending to publicly announce this, but as Tri NZ has presented the team, I want to acknowledge that I am appealing to their decision and am continuing my training for Gold Coast 2018!"
Dodds, 30, finished 21st at the 2016 Rio Olympics and 10th at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
The New Zealand team contains two seasoned campaigners in Andrea Hewitt and Ryan Sissons, and three Games debutants in Rebecca Spence, Nicole van der Kaay and Tayler Reid.
