    Thames golf club fire suspicious: police

    A fire at the Thames Golf Club last month is being investigated by the police as arson.


    Police are investigating the cause of a suspicious fire at the Thames Golf Club that destroyed a greenkeeper's shed.

    The blaze on October 18 destroyed most of the structure that stored golf carts, a mower and a tractor.

    "Police and fire investigators believe the fire was deliberately lit," Detective Constable Mark Leathem said.

    Police say the extensive damage to the building resulted in a substantial financial loss to the club.

    They are now asking anyone with information about the blaze to come forward.
