Thames golf club fire suspicious: police

A fire at the Thames Golf Club last month is being investigated by the police as arson.

Police are investigating the cause of a suspicious fire at the Thames Golf Club that destroyed a greenkeeper's shed.

The blaze on October 18 destroyed most of the structure that stored golf carts, a mower and a tractor.

"Police and fire investigators believe the fire was deliberately lit," Detective Constable Mark Leathem said.

Police say the extensive damage to the building resulted in a substantial financial loss to the club.

They are now asking anyone with information about the blaze to come forward.
