Levin arrest related to synthetic drugs

Police arrested a man in Levin on Tuesday in relation to supplying synthetic drugs and also recovered firearms and ammunition.

A man has been arrested for supplying synthetic drugs near Levin, while police also seized a shotgun and ammunition during a search of his home.

When a search warrant was served on an address in Manakau on Tuesday, police found nearly 4kg of material used in the manufacture of synthetic drugs, as well as a pump action shotgun and 56 rounds of ammunition.

Detective Sergeant Karen Heald says the material seized could make drugs with a street value of $100,000.

A 26-year-old man has been charged with supplying a psychoactive substance and bailed to appear in the Levin District Court on Thursday.
