    Baby hit by car in Whangamata driveway

    A baby boy has been left shaken after he was hit in the driveway of a Whangamata backpackers early on Wednesday morning.


    A one-year-old boy is in Waikato hospital after he was hit in the driveway of a Whangamata backpackers.

    The toddler was lucky to escape with only cuts to the head after he was struck by a reversing car at around 9am on Wednesday.

    The toddler's German parents were staying in a backpackers on Beverley Terrace when their son crawled-off to the end of the driveway and was hit by another German visitor.

    The boy is in a stable condition.
