    Arrests over alleged hit and run in Twizel

    Timaru Police have arrested two men in relation to an alleged hit and run incident in Twizel on Saturday night.


    Two men have been arrested over an alleged hit and run that left two men in hospital.

    A 23-year-old man has been charged with a series of assault matters while a 21-year-old has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

    Dectective Senior Sergeant Richard Quested told Stuff on Monday an altercation between partygoers on Saturday night in Twizel resulted in two people being hit by a vehicle on Mackenzie Drive.

    The men will appear in Timaru District Court on November 21 with further arrests likely.
