Alison Brie's weight training workouts have changed her life

The 34-year-old actress stepped up her workout sessions two years ago to prepare for her role in wrestling drama 'GLOW' and the regular gym time has totally altered her perspective

She said: "I came out of it feeling like a totally different person. It changed everything...

"I've just never given less f**ks. It's a nice feeling because you live your life more and care less about what other people think."

The 'Disaster Artist' actress - who is married to Dave Franco - also appreciates the fact her workouts provide her life with some consistency.

She told Women's Health magazine: "Your career will fluctuate; you'll have highs and lows. But I can always go to the gym and work out. I'm in control of myself and my body."

And Alison's ideas of what are beautiful have changed over the last few years.

She explained: "I feel like I was building strength outside and in at the same time.

"Now I feel like strength is beautiful, rather than that stick-skinny is the beauty standard."

The former 'Man Men' star is more "aggressive" than usual in the gym, but she feels that, outside of her workouts, she's become more laid back.

She said: "When I'm working out, I am more aggressive than I used to be. But otherwise I don't think I'm much more so. In fact, probably the opposite, because it's like I don't have as much to prove. I'm happier."

If Alison has to miss out on an exercise sessions, she feels "antsy".

She said: "It's how I relax, in a sense. I get real antsy on days that I don't work out at all. Anytime I'm down or feeling in a funk, I'll go for a hike."
