Kate Bosworth thinks her husband Michael Polish as the "sexiest man alive"

The 34-year-old actress - who married the screenwriter in 2013 - thinks her spouse is the "greatest" and there's no one she feels deserves the accolade more

Following People magazine's recent crowning of Blake Shelton as this year's Sexiest Man Alive, Kate was asked by 'Late Late Show' host James Corden who she would have given the title to, and she said: "I married my sexiest man alive - my husband Michael is the sexiest man alive ... It;s true! He's the greatest."

But the 'Superman Returns' star recently compromised her 47-year-old spouse's handsome features when she accidentally chopped a bald spot into the front of his hair.

James asked Kate about a photo of Michael lifting his cap to reveal his shorn locks and she explained: "So basically, we were in Bali and he asked if I would give him a haircut - I'd never given a haircut in my life.

'Everything was going really well until we got to the front. I totally panicked, went straight to the root and just snipped."

But the 'Straw Dogs' star insisted her husband had now forgiven her for the blunder.

She said: "We laughed, he couldn't believe it, because it was a huge chunk, and we died laughing. I felt terrible, but we had a good laugh."

Meanwhile, Kate recently admitted she is keen to have children of her own "soonish" with Michael.

She said: "[Having children I hope] will be coming soonish. I don't know when, but at some point."

However, she's happy she's close to her stepdaughter Jasper and can discuss the ups and downs of becoming an adult woman.

She said: "She and I are very close. We spoke the other day and I said, 'Look, I'm not going to sugarcoat this for you, but 19 to 23 - it's a rough ride.' I've never had a sister, so I was hoping I'd experience something I'd not had before. I felt very protective of her - when we met it was an immediate click. Although recently I heard her tell this story from her point of view, and she said, 'Oh, yeah, I was ready to go into that meeting hating her.' I had no idea, she's so nice! The idea of her hating anyone is unthinkable. I think she was nervous of the 'actress' element ... so I understood that."
