    Missing swimmer found in Buller river

    The body of a 57-year-old man caught in a powerful current while out swimming has been found.

    Police have found the body of the 57-year-old man who went missing after he was caught in the current of a West Coast river.

    The Police National Dive Squad found the body in the Buller River, Westport on Monday morning.

    The man was reported missing on Saturday evening while swimming at the junction of the Buller and Ohikanui Rivers.

    The death will be referred to the Coroner.
