Double Australian Open winner Victoria Azarenka has pulled out of next month's ASB Classic in Auckland due to personal reasons.
Former world No.1 Azarenka has been away from the game for much of the last 12 months after giving birth to her first child.
And while desperate to kickstart her 2018 comeback season in Auckland, she has family affairs to deal with, tournament director Karl Budge says.
"Weareobviouslyverydisappointedto nothavesomeoneofthecalibreofVictoria inAuckland," he said.
Azarenka has won 20 WTA titles, including her two Open triumphs in 2012 and 2013 and sits fourth on the all-time prize money list.
The ASB Classic will span two weeks; the women's tournament kicking off on January 1-6, followed by the men's tournament from January 8-13.
Dane Caroline Wozniacki is the top seed in the women's field, while American world No. 8 Jack Sock is the men's top seed.
