Another holiday quake for central country

Residents in Wellington and around Marlborough have been given another wake-up by a magnitude 3.9 earthquake.

A magnitude 3.9 earthquake has given residents in central parts of the country another holiday shake-up.

Centred 10 kilometres east of Seddon, the moderate, 8km-deep tremor struck about 1am on Wednesday, with dozens reporting feeling shaking around Wellington and Marlborough.

It follows a magnitude 3.8 quake that ratted the capital on Boxing Day.
