Craig named in NZ XI for ODI warm-up

Off-spinner Mark Craig has been named in the New Zealand XI to play Pakistan in a 50-over warm-up match in Nelson.

Former Black Caps spinner Mark Craig has been named in a New Zealand XI to take on Pakistan in a 50-over warm-up match at Nelson's Saxton Oval on Wednesday.

Craig, who has played 15 Tests for New Zealand, last played in for the Black Caps against India in September where he recorded figures of 2-139 off 47 overs.

New Zealand selector Gavin Larsen says Champions Trophy winners Pakistan are a formidable one-day team, and the match will provide an ideal opportunity

"Their pace bowling attack is one of the best in the world... It's a great opportunity (for the NZ XI) to test themselves against world-class opposition."

Pakistan play the Black Caps in five ODIs and three T20s, starting on January 6 at Wellington's Basin Reserve.

New Zealand XI squad: Fraser Colson (c) James Baker, Michael Barry, Ben Beecroft, Mark Craig, Jack Boyle, Michael Davidson, Lachie Johns (wk), Matt McEwan, Aniket Parikh, Bharat Popli, Michael Rae.
