    Police name man who died in Okuru River

    Police have named the man who died after his vehicle went down a bank into the Okuru River near Haast.


    Police have named the man who died after his vehicle went down a bank into the Okuru River near Haast.

    He was Phillip Lee Mitchell, 44, from Hannah's Clearing, Haast.

    The car was found by the jet boater on Wednesday afternoon and the body was found downstream by searchers.

    The death has been referred to the Coroner.
