Metal pole used in Hamilton liquor robbery

Two woman and a man threatened staff at a Hamilton liquor store with a metal pole before making off with cigarettes, alcohol and cash, police say.

Staff at a Hamilton liquor store were threatened with a metal pole before robbers made off with cigarettes, alcohol and cash, police say.

The offenders - two women and man - had gone into Heaphy Terrace Super Liquor around 8.30pm on New Year's Eve.

They had their faces covered and, after stealing items from the shop, ran off down Bettina Road.

Detective Wayne Burney says police want to speak to the driver of a blue Jaguar vehicle who was seen trying to stop the trio leaving the scene.
