Police have charged a 26-year-old man with murder in relation to the death of a man who was dropped at Tauranga Hospital on Wednesday.

The victim, 58-year-old Lance Wayne Waite, was dropped at the hospital at about midday with critical injuries, but died a short time later.

On Thursday, police and the Armed Offenders Squad made the arrest at a home on Ngatai Road in the Tauranga suburb of Otumoetai.
