Brad Pitt paid $120,000 to watch 'Game of Thrones' with Emilia Clarke - but was outbid

The 'Moneyball' actor had bid for the episode viewing with the show's star during a silent auction at Sean Penn's annual gala for Haiti, at Milk Studios in Los Angeles, California, on Saturday (06.01.18) but ultimately lost out to a higher offer

Brad had initially bid $80,000 before upping his offer to $90,000. When another 'Game of Thrones' star, Kit Harington - who had been seated at a separate table to Emilia - returned to the room after a bathroom break, he also offered to sit in on the episode viewing, prompting the 54-year-old actor to again raise his bid to $120,000.

However, the exciting lot was won by another attendee at the gala, who paid $160,000 for the screening.

Meanwhile, Emilia outbid Leonardo DiCaprio - who was honoured at the gala for his work combating climate change - for a painting by Josh Smith, paying $90,000 to trump his $80,000 offering for the artwork.

However, later during the auction, a second painting by the artist was put up for grabs, and this time around, the 'Wolf of Wall Street' star was successful.

The winner of the 'Game of Thrones' prize will have to wait some time for their screening because it was recently confirmed the HBO fantasy drama series won't return to TV for its final season until 2019.

And even the stars of the show don't know how the final series will play out as producers have taken drastic measures to stop the ending being leaked.

Emilia said recently: "They've written a number of different endings. So none of the cast know what the actual ending is. If there's ever a leak of any kind, don't believe it because it's probably not true."

The first six seasons of 'Game of Thrones' had 10 episodes, but in 2017 the seventh season had only seven, and now fans have been left waiting for a final season of just six instalments.
