Kourtney Kardashian's youngest child refused to co-sleep with her

The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star adopted the parental method - which sees her children share the same bed as her at night - for her eldest Mason, eight, and daughter Penelope, five, but three-year-old Reign went straight into his cot

Writing on her app, the 38-year old beauty said: "Getting the kids to sleep through the night in my home was different for each individual child. When I had Mason, co-sleeping just kind of happened naturally. It's what worked for all of us to get the most sleep, so I quickly embraced it. But it was also really important to me to research the benefits and some of the criticisms when it came to this method. I also used certain things like the DockATot, which gave me more peace of mind. When I had Penelope, I read The Attachment Parenting Book by Dr. Sears - and this style of co-sleeping really worked for us. During this time, Mason was also sleeping most nights in my bed. We made it work and I really just followed his lead for when we both felt he was ready to sleep in his room. Reign was the only one who has always slept in his own bed. We didn't use any sleep-training methods for him. By two-and-a-half, he started sleeping through the whole night without waking up. Before, he would wake up a few times during the night and need a little back rub to get back to sleep. Sometimes he would fall back to sleep on his own too, so I really just felt things out as a mom."

Kourtney - who has her three children with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick - has been dating her new 24-year-old beau Younes Bendjima for just over a year now but has worked out how to balance her love life with her work and family.

She said recently: "I've definitely learned from my past relationship, where I really wouldn't travel without the kids. And I think it is important to take time, especially because my relationship is important to me. Just because those worlds aren't colliding right now, just making sure that I make time for both. And I think going on a trip once in a while reminds me the importance of being present and in the moment when I'm home. And I think it makes me the best mom I can be."
