    Ed Sheeran has gotten engaged

The 26-year-old musician has revealed he popped the question to his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn at the end of last year, when he took to Instagram on Saturday (20.01.18) to share an adorable snap of the couple with his followers

He captioned the photo: “Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx (sic)”

Although the ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker is set to head off on the next leg of his ‘Divide Tour’ in March this year, he won’t have to spend too much time away from his fiancée, as he previously admitted she would be flying out to spends weekends with him during his European dates in May.

He said: "It's actually really easy for Cherry to come. She works and can't give up her job.

"But it's gonna be easy because it's weekends and two months of it is in Europe so she can just pop out.”

And Ed’s upcoming nuptials might make him reconsider his view on 2018, as he previously dubbed his plans for the year as “boring”.

He said: "It's gonna be a kind of boring year. There's not actually going to be that much going on other than touring.”

As of the time of writing, it’s unknown when the happy couple are set to tie the knot, but the ‘Shape of You’ singer previously revealed he was ready to settle down and start a family with Cherry.

He said: "This is my idea of happiness; living in the countryside, having a multitude of children always around me and my wife by my side. Writing songs every day and then going to pick up my kids at school ... I'm ready [to be a dad], but then it's not me who have to carry a baby in the belly for nine months, so it's not just up to me."
